Paulo Mac Dowell
Was born in São José dos Campos, São Paulo in 1965. He currently lives in Brasília where he began his career as a photographer, visual artist, designer and philosopher. He studied photography at ICP - International Center of Photography in New York in 1988/1989
In his career as a self-taught researcher in the various manifestations of the visual arts, stands out the diversity of his artistic experience and the plurality of his works that have conquered the world, and are present in more than 50 countries, appearing in important collections, such as :
São Paulo State Art Gallery, Itamaraty Palace, Planalto Palace, Monica Filgueiras Art Gallery, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon, former mayor of Paris Bertrand Delanöe, Japan's Crown Prince Naruhito, among so many others
Had his works exhibited in Germany, the USA, and in several Brazilian cities, among the exhibitions held are: "glass - universe in colors and shapes" (2016); "the garden of light - his characters, his charm" (2005) at the Pinacoteca of the State of São Paulo; "narcissus" (1989) at Black and White Gallery, New York; "reflections of an era" (1987/1988) in several Brazilian capitals
As a designer participated in the 2nd Brazilian design exhibition in Milan (1996) and the itinerant exhibition "woods in design" promoted by IBAMA
In favor of the good of life, created bio-jewels – ‘jóias da natureza’; the ‘sombra viva’, a system of aerial vegetal cover of urban landscaping, important mechanism of clean development, and the videographic project - Who are you ?, www.quemevoce.art.br
Nasceu em São José dos Campos, São Paulo em 1965, vive atualmente em Brasília onde iniciou sua profícua carreira, fotógrafo, artista visual, designer e filósofo, estudou fotografia no ICP - Internacional Center of Photography de Nova Iorque, em 1988/1989
Em seu percurso como pesquisador autodidata nas diversas manifestações das artes visuais, destaca-se a diversidade de sua experiência artística e a pluralidade de suas obras que vêm conquistando o mundo, e estão presentes em mais de 50 países, figurando em importantes acervos, tais como:
Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo, Palácio do Itamaraty, Palácio do Planalto, Galeria de Arte Mônica Filgueiras, acervo do secretário geral da ONU Ban Ki-Moon, do ex-prefeito de Paris Bertrand Delanöe, do príncipe herdeiro do Japão Naruhito, entre tantos outros
